The Essence of Easter

As fun and colorful as the Easter decorations are, as delicious as the Easter delicacies may be, as lovely as the time spent with family and friends could be, the best thing about Easter will always be the True Meaning of Easter.

Easter is that time of year where we commemorate very significant tenets of our Christian faith. The Death, Burial and Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on which our very salvation is founded, are what Easter is Truly about.

His death and Burial, brought remission of sins, the absolute defeat of satan and his cohorts and recovery of the keys of death and hell (Col 2:15, Rev 1:18). Today, we can be born again because Jesus Christ was the first begotten from the dead by His resurrection (1 Pet 1:3).

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). This is the True meaning of Easter, the celebration of the immense love of God our Father and Jesus Christ our Savior. While we were yet sinners, God loved us and Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

We celebrate that by His sacrifice, we have been brought into the newness of life. We have passed from death to life and we are now seated together with him in heavenly realms of authority far above principalities, powers and every name that is named (Eph 1:20-21, Eph 2:5-6).

We celebrate the free gift of righteousness, the nature of God imparted to our spirits. This gift that enables us to have right standing with God and be the express image of The Father today so that we can reign in life as kings (Rom 5:17).

This Easter, let your heart be filled with gratitude, expressed in times of Thanksgiving to God. Don’t stop there, be intentional about reaching someone who has not heard the good news of what Christ did for them. Tell them about His love, tell them about the new life in Christ which is available to them today!!!

Have a Blessed Easter!
