Your Daily Devotion is a truly essential aspect of your Christianity.

The Father is in heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ has ascended into heaven, when He left He said “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;” John 14:16.

Today, we have the Holy Spirit of God and He is the one called to walk alongside us in this journey of the Christian life. One of the crucial ways to experience this communion is through studying a Daily Devotional.

Here are 5 ways to Enrich Your Daily Devotional Study.

1.HAVE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE
We have been brought into union and fellowship with the Godhead. A major aspect of fellowship is communication.

Your attitude towards your Daily Devotional study should be that it is a time when God seeks to communicate with you through His word and you also have the privilege of communicating with him through prayer.

See it as a time where your Heavenly Father, who loves you seeks to share with you, more about Himself, more about you, about the spirit realm, about the circumstances that affect your life, about the world around you and about life in general. Believe that each article is packaged with a message from God specifically for you.

Furthermore, know that the communication is not one-sided. During your study the Holy Spirit is present and you can ask him questions, share your concerns and ask for greater clarity on the subject matter. He will surely respond.

Having this view of your time of Daily Devotional Study will completely transform it from a mundane task you perform begrudgingly to an enriching and enlightening time of fellowship that you look forward to every day.

2.HAVE THE RIGHT MATERIALS
Once you have the correct perspective about Your Daily Devotional Study, it is important to ensure you have the right material that accurately communicates God’s true and undiluted word.

Your Bible and the Rhapsody of Realities, which is based on the word of God given to us in scriptures, are necessary materials for an effective study.

You may also look through notes taken during various church services or other church meetings related to the subject matter you are studying for the day. Furthermore, the Rhapsody of Realities Topical Compendiums are wonderful reference materials containing multiple articles grouped according to study topic.

3.HAVE THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT
Once armed with the right material, you need to find a conducive environment for your devotional study. Avoid places that would deter you from maintaining your focus. You need your mind to be fully attentive to the material you are studying in order to get the best out of your study time.

Ideally, you should be in a secluded area which does not offer any form of distraction. For example, your home study, or your bedroom.

Secondly, find a very quiet time when not much is going on in your environment. Ideally early in the morning before the hustle and bustle of everyday activities begin and before others in your household would require your attention.

Lastly, avoid having distracting devices in the vicinity. Ensure that phones, laptops, tablets, televisions, etc, are all switched off. In the case where you are using digital material for your devotion, ensure that social media notifications and calls are blocked, to avoid interrupting your devotion.

4.HAVE ENOUGH TIME
In order to get the very best out of your devotional study, set aside sufficient time for it.

You would want to have 30 minutes to an hour where you can study uninterrupted. This would allow you to engage the material thoroughly until you gain not just knowledge, but understanding.

Remember, the Bible admonishes us that the one who hears but doesn’t understand the word will have no fruits.

5.PRACTICE MEDITATION
Finally, to enjoy a most enriching time of devotional study and ensure that your study brings forth fruits in your life. You must meditate.

There are three stages of meditation, pondering, muttering and roaring.

Make sure you repeatedly read and think about each concept and scripture in your daily devotional article, then begin to speak the written words out loud multiple times, until it stirs up faith proclamations within you and you find yourself making bold declarations.

Once this is done you can rest assured that the word you have studied will bring forth results. Your entire being, situations and circumstances have been sufficiently conditioned to bring the word to pass.

Happy Studying!
